How Much Will Your Termite Inspection Cost Be?

So you've found some pretty convincing evidence that termites have congregated in or around your home at one point or another. Some signs of termite damage may be from previous infestations that have either been exterminated or didn't like the taste of your home and moved on of their own accord. Sometimes it can be difficult to be sure if the damage is recent and you may be wondering: what will the termite inspection cost be?

There are as many answers as variables those answers are dependent on. Some companies will waive inspection cost if you choose them to perform the termite treatment, but jack up the price of treatment to the point where it costs the same as another exterminator who doesn't waive the cost of termite inspection.

Termite inspection may not exactly be high on your family's budget, but it is imperative that you take the necessary precautionary measures to ensure your home's safety. After all, you will have much bigger problems than how to fit termite inspection/treatment into your home budget if you don't have a home at all due to severe termite damage.

Ask around or use your Google Fu and get in touch with a few reputable local exterminators and let them know you're shopping around and ask why you should go with them as an exterminator. This may seem offensive at first, but you'll find that the best business owners will take questions like that in stride, take pride in the work they do, and are usually happy to go over qualifications and how their company provide more value than the next guy.

How to Prepare Your Home for Termite Tenting

Finding out your home has become termite hotel can be a harrowing experience. The first couple of questions to cross your mind (after ensuring your home is structurally sound for the time being, of course) are most likely: How much will termite treatment cost ? What's the best method of termite treatment?

After doing a bit of research you will find that termite tenting is both the most thorough, and the most cumbersome method of termite treatment. Not only do you experience your children's disappointment after explaining that no, your house did not magically become a circus, but you also need to consider the safety of your personal belongings.

The fumigant the termite exterminators decide to use is what will determine which of your belongings are safe to stay in your home, and which belongings will have to be temporarily relocated. Two additional determinants are temperature and time. Colder temperatures correspond to a longer tenting process. Your extermination company should be well versed in these matters, but it doesn't hurt to be thorough.

Make sure the termite exterminators are experienced. If the tented house is not well sealed, the fumigation gases will seep due to negative pressure, wasting your time and money.
